All About OPI Gel Nails

Here at Olney House of Beauty, we offer a wide range of treatment options, making sure you look and feel your best from tip to toe. Today we’re looking at both your tips and toes, with our OPI gel nail treatments. Offering both a manicure and pedicure, read on to find out more about this fantastic nail treatment.

Why OPI?

We are proud to provide OPI gel nails to our clients as it is the world’s best-selling nail polish brand. Since its foundations were built in 1981, it offers a balance between quality and affordability, which explains why it is selling so well. It is available in over 100 countries across the globe, and one of over 70 brands that are owned by the multinational beauty company Coty.

What is OPI Gel?

If you’re not already familiar with OPI gel nail polish, it is similar to Shellac in that it provides a long-lasting, heavily pigmented nail colour. It has the added benefit of protecting the nails, whilst offering approximately 3 weeks of wear due to their chip-resistant formula. In our salon, we are able to cure your new gel nails with LED light to create that long lasting finish. Not only do its innovative ingredients give you the best high-gloss shine you can get, OPI gel is also weightless, odour-free and available in over 200 different colours.

Our Treatments

We offer a OPI gel nail treatment for both feet and hands, with our pedicures and manicures. Our standard treatment for either option is £30, and includes a simple nail fil, cuticle work, and the gel polish. If required, a soak-off treatment is available for just £6 with this treatment. A full pedicure option is also available for £44, which also includes hard skin removal, plus a foot and leg massage. If you need a soak off treatment on its own, this costs £11.The application of OPI gel nails can take around half an hour, and requires a total of six steps. For this reason, it is recommended for use by salon professionals skilled in the artistry of nails.

What to Expect

Whether you have a manicure or a pedicure, you can expect your nails to be fully prepped and primed before the application of any polish. You should first receive a pH balancing coat, and then a base coat, which is then cured under the LED light. We will start with a thin coat of your chosen colour when applying the OPI gel polish. After the first layer is cured, this process is repeated before the application of a top coat, sealed again under the LED light. Any excess gel residue will be removed to ensure you gain the perfect finish.
