Lockdown week 5- House of Beauty News

Hello everyone,

I hope you're having a good week this week, and you're enjoying the lovely weather we're having. We are now in week 5 of the lockdown and I’m hoping we will get some news by the end of the week regarding when we can look to re-open the salons. For now I am planning our return and trying to serve you as best I can in the meantime. If you have had an appointment booked with us during this period then we will be ringing you to re- book as soon as we have a definite date for re-opening.
First of all, to say, after last Friday's huge success that we had with the Facebook Live on skincare and doing your own facial at home, I'm going to be repeating it, this Friday, coming up again.
This week I’ll be focusing on face masks and how to get a handle on any skin concerns you currently have.
Please feel free to email me any skin problems or concerns you're having, and I'll go through any problems specifically and any questions that people have got at the beginning, of the hour at 11 o'clock session when we start.
After the Q & A’s I'll be going on to focusing on different face masks, you can use at home while in lockdown when you’re unable to  get in for a facial.

Hope to be seeing you again soon
And best wishes from all the girls as I know they are missing you too.

What to expect after your first laser hair removal treatment

If you're wondering how your skin will feel after the first treatment, there are several things you will notice. You should find generally after the treatment that there is no pain or discomfort. Occasionally, you can find this skin is a bit sensitive for the first 12 house. You can also have a raised erythema around the hair follicle where the follicle has absorbed the heat from the treatment. In some cases, very occasionally you can have light scabbing on the area. If you find the skin is red, and sensitive after the treatment you can use aloe Vera gel or ice packs in the treatment area. After your treatment, it generally takes between five and 10 days for the hair cast to fall out and the new hair growth to begin growing again.
After the treatment is finished it generally takes between five and 10 days for the hair to drop out, you'll sometimes see the hair cast, which is the tiny amount of hair that is left in the follicle after we've treated it, which then gets burned in the treatment, the hair cast falls out of the hair follicle and sometimes you see it falling out. If you're having a facial treatment done when you wash your face, generally that’s when you can see the cast coming out on body areas, you don't see that so much because you wouldn't necessarily see that in the shower. Later, once  10 days has passed the hair underneath the second stage of the hair follicle will start to grow through underneath, and you'll get the new hair growth coming through which should be slightly finer and thinner, and sometimes you find patches where the hair doesn't grow back at all. Each treatment is staggered at intervals between 3-6 weeks. With each treatment there should be a slight reduction of hair covering the area being treated until you have reached the desired outcome. The course of treatments can vary between 6 months and 18 months to get a large reduction in hair growth.

Keeping in touch during Lockdown- 2 weeks in!

Hello everybody,
I hope you're having a good week. So it's now almost two weeks since the lockdown started for most of us. I'm definitely starting to miss being in the salons and miss all my therapists and I know I am especially, missing you, our lovely clients. I know all the girls are feeling the same so I wanted to email out to say hello to you to let you know that we're thinking about you and hope you're okay at home with your families. Well done Freya for winning our LVL lash lift competition this week. We will try to keep posting regular competitions on our Facebook page to stave off the boredom.
As the weather starts to turn and change it looks like this weekend we're going to last get some nice weather and get away from the grotty terrible overcast days and made me think that spring has finally sprung, and it's time to start looking at spring cleaning our beauty routines.
I know at this time of the year my hay fever kicks in, so I tend to get quite dry, itchy eyes, and a bit of a runny nose so skin around my nose gets quite drying irritated. So I'm going to be looking to use a richer moisturiser, and probably incorporate a scrub into my routine, to slough off the dead dry skin. I'll be also looking at using some different products, because my eyes get quite irritated, this time of the year so there's a few changes that I'm going to be making.
If you're looking at your house bound skin and want to make some changes at the moment we are very excited to announce that our new online shop is now live on our website. And to celebrate the shop going live, we are doing free deliveries, so you can go on to our website, www.Houseofbeautysalons.co.uk and look for the tabs at the top of the site, look at shop online, and you've got a Jane Iredale shop, an Environ shop and a Decleor shop and all our products are listed there. If there is anything you need, not listed then please email me because we probably have got it or can get it, it’s just not on the site yet. We've not managed to actually get every product on the online shop fast enough. Because there are so many products in each range is taking a long time to get all the products listed on the online shop. The shop pages will be growing all time to get all our inventory on there.Environ are shipping orders directly to individual clients from head office so I am not having any problems
So, hope you're all well hopefully we'll be seeing you all again soon. Please do email me if you need anything. At least next few weeks we're offering free delivery on the online shop. Just to keep you stocked up on all those essential products that you're using day to day.
Thank you very much. Hopefully Talk to you soon.

Salon Lockdown

Hope you are all well. I’m writing to you on Wednesday morning and it’s feels like 2 weeks have flashed by since last Saturday. As you all will already now know, all 4 House of Beauty salons have been shut and will stay shut until Boris tells us to re- open.
It was a difficult decision to shut up shop as I know how many of you rely on us so I was glad when a firm order was given to shut so that I could stop dithering and close. We are so close when carrying out treatments there’s just no way can we work at a 2 meter distant without putting you at risk. I was starting to worry that as therapists we would be the super spreaders who could potentially be making everyone ill.
I spent most of Monday getting my ducks in a row to make sure the salons will be financially secure whilst we are closed.
I spent most of yesterday driving over to each salon to make sure it was safe (i.e., unplug everything drain machines ect) to leave for however long we need to be empty.
I will be using, this enforced isolation to look at working on new plans for the salons and looking into potential new treatments or services that we could offer and improving all our working systems that we already have.
Environ has already put into place virtual training courses over the next 2 months so we will also be using this time to update and refresh our facial training and I am hoping some of our other beauty partners will be offering a similar service.
Environ are also offering direct client deliveries so if you need any product deliveries please get in touch either by email or through our facebook page and I will arrange orders with you there. I am looking at setting up an online shop to go alongside our gift voucher page on the website but for now please message us directly.
For anyone who needs to get their Gels off I have made up DIY removal kits so let me know as we can send those out too. £15.00
We will be keeping our Face book page updated with fun and informative posts and even a few competitions to stave off the boredom and I will update our website blog regularly as I will have time now to do it.
One thing I will have time for whilst I’m at home with my boys is to find out what we can do for you? Is there any you would like from us going forward?
Are there any treatments or services we don’t currently offer that you would be interested in?
I will keep you regularly updated with all things House of Beauty over the coming weeks and I hope you are keeping mentally and physically well at home with your family.
